Ideas for the Oregon Coast? AND what to do this Saturday!
First one of my good friends Tony Nugent will be in town this weekend and will be opening at the Comedy underground in Tacoma. Tony is a very close friend of mine and a very talented comedian. I urge you all if you need to laugh or just want to see me you know where I will be.
ALSO! I am making a trip in the next few weeks for a weekend getaway with someone I am seeing and want to know what to see and where to go. I have been all over Oregon with the exception of the coast. We both enjoy wine (maybe too much but who is to judge) and enjoy outdoor activities. I figured I could come here and get a few good ideas from you shmos.

Josh,
If you head down through Ocean Shores, you guys can rent mopeds and ride them on the beach. They also have other bike type things you can ride, or golf carts to drive on the sand as well.
When you get to Oregon, I suggest the Sea Lion cave if you guys like animals. It's actually pretty cool! It's (if I can remember correctly) outside of Geribaldi and/or Yachats. Cannon Beach has some great little shops and places to eat. I'd stay a night there if you get a chance. It's romantic and a good place for a nice glass (or two) of wine.
Best wishes and have a wonderful time!
PS...if you get all the way down to Florence, you can rent dune buggies or sand rails and ride them on the dunes! That's by far, Todd's favorite thing to do. It's a blast!

oh dang.....forgot to tell you something..haha!
pss.....
i'm not sure about this time of year, but you can rent horses and ride them on the beach as well and also at ocean shores, you can drive your car on the beach.
and of course, if you get to Tillamook, they have the cheese factory! And if you end up coming back up through Oregon, McMinnville has some wonderful wineries. Did I spell that correctly? Hmm...anyway, they also have/had the Spruce Goose on display at the air museum.

Thanks! Tilmahook is a definite possibility. I hear of some B&B that is an excellent getaway in Seasound. I will have to check into it some more. Thanks again!

you bet! and you KNOW i'll be there to take some snap shots! you can borrow one of my pink ones if you'd like!
Josh we go to Salishan Resort/Spa every year with a select group of Ferrari's and Masarati's. It's an old school 80's style resort and the spa is very very nice. I don't know much about the golf course there. It's close to Newport.
Since it is earth day and all, I suggest you visit the only winery on the continent that is 100% Leed Certified. They make wonderful wines...

I stayed in this BB last year and had a great time. Pacific City OR has a great beach and dunes and it is located in between Newport and Seaside, so you can go sight seeing south one day and north the next. Ask for the big room, your lady will love the tub! Very nice people and great breakfast. I forgot to mention the owner is a SCCA racer too =)

While in Newport you have to stop in Moe's for the best clam chowder in the world.
