Mini Cooper

Hi gang,

My daughter's graduating from Western next month and as a graduation present I'm thinking about buying her an updated car. I think she would really love a Mini. I've read that several of you own them. Any tips or things to watch out for would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to spend no more than 15k. There's a 2003 S down the street from my house at Exit 7 auto sales for $14,995 with 81,000 miles. Fair?

Thanks!

Brian

I have an 05 S that has 40k on it. It is a perfect 10. Its got suspension, wheels and tinted windows. Its loaded as far as options. I am a car guy just trying to get rid of a few. We are looking for 18,750. I know thats more than you want to spend but it is perfect with no stories. It looks like I am pretty close so if you would like to take a look at it let me know.

I think for 04 the gearbox was updated but get it inspected at a Mini dealer, they will plug the computer and do a read out.

have you thought about teaching her how to drive one? i actually had a fun time when my dad took me out when i was 15 and taught me. you can always use a rental car. plus, he knew it was always a good idea to know how to drive a manual just in case there was an emergency and i needed to know how to drive one. and also, most of the cute, sporty cars were sticks!

best wishes!

I completly agree with you! I'm leaning that direction of teaching her how to drive a stick. Thanks for your reply.
