Years ago I worked for a yacht designer for my college internship. Once in a while a builder would come along who'd want to build some giant yacht for a "customer" that didn't yet exist. He'd call it out, saying it was another guy building a monument to himself and I've never forgotten that. I see a house like this and a 99 car garage, and I can't help but think this is a vision about what this guy would do for himself if he had the money rather than what a buyer would actually build. How many people in the entire country have collections that big? I'm guessing you could call each one in a day and see if they are truly interested in living out in the middle of nowhere with 99 cars. Right.

Well in the defense of this property, Issaquah isn't really the middle of nowhere... its very close to Seattle and yet offers privacy. IMO Issaquah is the best of the best of WA. But regardless, I still have to agree with you.

I guess it's not built yet, the land is for sale with a 3500sqft structure & 8k sqft of garage for $1.25M http://richardsrealty.com/index.cfm?...ingID=34927555

So I guess its $1.25M for the lot and $24.75M for the structure.... LOL like Kuzi said, delusional.

I've always wondered if someone were to build a monstrosity like that what sort of staff would you need to keep it up. Of course being off the bus line they'd have to have their own living quarters. Can't imagine what it would cost to put furniture, carpets and drapes in such a place.

^^ It's definitely no joke. I would think you'd need at least a few housekeepers, a cook, landscape crew etc...I don't even want to know the maintenance costs lol. I wouldn't mind building someone something that big, but I definitely would not build myself anything that size.

Thank goodness it has TWO bowling alleys -- nothing says "riff raff" better than only one bowling alley!

I'm not talking nowhere in the sense of Issaquah specifically, but in relative terms to the value of the house. It's different if you spend $25 million in a neighborhood with other $20+ million dollar homes, but it really doesn't otherwise matter where you are when you're the only house anywhere near that range.

True, but like Hummm3 said any property that large has to have a huge full time staff to run the place. Pretty crazy.

My uncle has a 16K square foot place and it is a monstrosity. Just so much space to maintain. Even the cleaning of all the floors/rooms/windows would be an all week task. I can't imagine twice that.
