Leavenworth Drive - June 20, 2009

Took this off the audizine forums.

Here we go again! 9th Annual drive, can you believe it? Over 600 cars last year, help spread the word to all European car owners and enthusiasts!

Date: Saturday, June 20th, 2009
Meeting Point: Bellevue Community College – Bellevue, WA - Parking Lots 1A and 1B
Meeting Time: 9:00am to 10:30am
Driver's meeting: 10:30am
Leave for Leavenworth: 10:45am

Donation – There is a minimum donation of $10.00 USD per car. All proceeds will be donated to our Charity Spotlight organization.

Please come with a full tank of gas to the meeting location!

This event is not a speed or racing event, this is a casual cruise through some very scenic roads in Washington State. If you want to speed, please do it somewhere else.

This drive is not fun....usually there's WAY too much traffic going up there especially on a nice day.

I agree with JT - after seeing pictures from the past two years, does not look like my kind of drive either.

I went on this drive last year...and although I don't have much to compare too, I had a great time. 600+ cars showed up to the event, but I'd guess maybe 300-400 went on the drive. When you add 400 cars spread out over several miles into the general populous, it's a drop in the bucket. I was toward the end of the pack however, but I made it to Leavenworth taking Highway 2 without any delay. If I recall, I was easily avg 50-60mph all the way. I had no trouble parking in Leavenworth either, despite the road construction going on in town.

I agree this might not be the typical exotic car drive the 6speeders are used too, but I had fun cruising with all the VWs and Audis, and BMWs.

you guys should still come..sure the number of cars has grown bigger every year, but we get so spread out, its definitely not 600 cars driving in one big group at 35 mph. we like to have fun too!
