The 250 and the 288 both look stunning. I have seen a few 599s in person and they do look really good. And do I really come across as cynical? I must be watching too much House again!

The 599 production number is just tacky, like the two-tone imho.

IMO, this car is Africa hot. The venting, scoops, wings, and all other aero bits are a result of form following function. It is even sexier because it still has Ferrari lines and some hardcore performance to back it up. Faster than an Enzo...for realz? Honestly, I wouldn't care what color it was. That would be like complaining about Megan Fox wearing a low-cut neon green slinky dress. Look at the lines, people!

I'm a fan of the classics as much as anyone, but the GTO regalia is appropriate considering the technology and performance it possesses. This is some high-tech sh*&. I sincerely hope someone on the NW 6 (cough...Mark...cough) buys one so I can see it in person one of these days.

I don’t think he likes them, or front engines for that matter. But what do I know. Anything with 20’s is a supercar faux pas. The xx looks way better then that rendering. I think if you had to choose between and enzo…

My guess is that there will be two, possibly three GTOs in the NW. I know of one for sure.

To my eye it looks like a modern equivalent of a 250 GTO. The ancestral lines are there. Is it as gorgeous ... no. But maybe auto historians will think differently in 50 years ... who can tell ... it takes decades for these things to be appreciated.
The past has gone. If you want a 1960s car you have to buy a car made in the 1960s. Laws, expectations, technology, standards, materials have all changed so drastically there can never be a car made today that is identical to the cars of the past, one can only hope for something that evokes the spirit of a past legend, and I personally believe that the 599GTO achieves this.

Is one of them going to be yours? I'm guessing after how you liked your last 599, probably not.

No, I doubt I would be "599 GTO worthy" even if I had the significant resources available to make the purchase...
