I decided to respray the roof after Blake recommended a great satin paint. It's not the cheapest, but sprays really evenly so I gave it a shot. I also did a little wet sanding to smooth the paint out. I think it came out great. Still not as even as a professional shot, but for $20, you can't beat it.....

Here's a good example of the difference. Look on the left and right hand sides of the sunroof towards the front. See how the paint did not lay very evenly? Now look at the last photo.
