King county, proposing 1% excise tax
Heard on the news, King county can't do it on current revenues. They are asking the state authorities to add a 1% (of your car's current value) excise tax for yearly tab renewal.
Essentially bring back the sky high tabs of before the Eyman initiative (and later legislation).

I have dodged the bullet so far being in Pierce County. The news report made it sound like they did not have to take it to the voters.
Looks like 1000 dollar (plus) car tabs may be returning in our future.
