City of Seattle Claim for Damages?

Has anyone here had luck filing a claim for damages with the city of seattle?

I was driving a friends car on Tuesday night and hit a pothole that was obscured by what looked like only a shallow pool of standing water. Even though i was only going maybe 10mph, the front right wheel sank deep enough for the fiberglass front end to hit the ground. The repair is not going to be cheap.

Not sure of the rules in WA state but up here in BC you would be on your own with no claim againt the city/province or whatever. It's called a "Road bed collision" in the insurance business which is treated as an "at fault" collision" up here.

This is why friend's don't drive cars unless they can afford to fix.

Hope it all works out for you.
