Paramount Performance Tuners?

Has any body dealt with Paramount performance Uk (http://www.paramount-performance.com/acatalog/index.html) for modifying their Jaguars? So far , they are the only ones who provide substantial mods for the 2010 Jaguar XFR/ XKR. Has anybody had any previous experience with them?

I am interested in dealing with them for an XFR , and want to know about their credibility in the mod market.

They did a cowboy job on my Porsche. When I got there, they attempted to fit the uprated springs, but did not have the correct tools to take the suspension apart. They hammered the components to destruction then overcharged me for components to replace the destroyed ones. Once these were brought in, to my horror they were trying to fit Carrera 2 springs to a Carrera 4. The springs didn't fit the front at all. I was sent home with the car lowered -30mm at the rear and stock height at the front, and the car was receiving dangerous lift at the front, so I had to creep the 50 mile trip home.

The next visit there they fitted the Carrera 4 springs, a KN air induction and supposedly did a remap. Springs seemed to go OK this time, the KN went on OK and the remap apparently went OK. Then suddenly their dyno didn't work for AWD cars (despite it working just hours before), so I never got an 'after' reading of the bhp. Paid, and went home. Next day out in the car, sudden complete power loss with the 'Check Engine' light lighting up like a Christmas tree. Pulled over and switched off the car for 10 mins, then turned back on and everything seemed OK. However, every time I tried to give it the beans the 'Check Engine' light would flash away.

Took it back up there the next weekend and they replaced the MAF sensor, and the car ran OK for a certain amount of time. Then, couple of weeks later the 'Check Engine' light, lighting away again. Long story short persisting problems with the car as soon as I had left Paramount, took almost £1,000 to set the car straight again.

Next problem! The car was running on a brand new set of tyres on the visit to Paramount. 2,000 miles later - absolutely bald. I contact Paramount and they said that they had told me to come back after two weeks of getting the springs fitted for a geometry check. Absolutely, no doubt about it, they didn't tell me about this. So another £700 later (4 new tyres) I take the car up to Birmingham to a Porsche chassis and suspension specialist.

I was mortified to find out what was really going on underneath the car. They didn't even re-connect the drivers side drop-link, the toe in/out and camber adjusters hadn't been touched, the bolts had been murdered on, no torque settings etc, the drop-link had been scraping on the drive-shaft, I was just outraged. So, a further £1,100 later the bad components are replaced and the car finally back to normal.

Worth a visit to Paramount? Have a guess... Sorry to sound so negative, but this was my experience, an absolutely disgraceful company in my opinion.

Thank you for your input GT-S. I guess I will not be dealing with them at all now. Better stick to RSC Tuning!

Your KN is what is throwing the CEL. You prob. didnt need a new MAF just need to spray it down with MAF cleaner to get the K&N oil off of it. u probably had p1128 and p1130 codes from the CEL.

Car didn't just throw a CEL, the power completely went to nil and I coasted to a stop. Never heard anybody else's car go this way with a KN. Trust me, Paramount are absolutely ridiculous cowboys. They smashed the components on my car to pieces in order to get a part off. When I went to Center Gravity to correct the car, Chris showed me the exact tool to get the part they were hammering away at off. Customer service was the worst I have ever seen, they were "all show, no go". A lovely waiting room, but they really ruined my car (which is where it counts). The Center Gravity company I went to to bring the car back to health were the exact opposite - "no show, all go". Don't have enough good words for Chris at CG.
