I'm looking to buy an 08 S/C within the next week or so.

My mom drove a '99 Full Sized 4.0 to 95k miles and my dad's '04 Full Sized has 87k now. The cars have been great. The '04 needed a steering column replaced at ~80k, which wasn't too expensive and that's it. They are relatively bullet-proof-- and the good news is they only get better with each new model.

That being said, having mine under warranty will provide peace of mind (as with any car). I intend to buy an aftermarket warranty when the factory expires if I still have the car. Don't listen to the conventional wisdom, these cars are not plagued with a different costly problem every week. How many do you see a day? 20? 30? 40? Every business man and his wife are not driving these cars because they suck.

Thumbs up

I've got an 08' S/C and a '11 S/C - absolutely no issues with either. I say go for it!

I have an '06 RRS S/C, it's in the shop right now for it's 37k mi service; no issues whatsoever. My only qualm with the car is that its pretty slow, other than that, it's a great ride.

Had an 06 with no issues at all and then we got an 08 SC. (both full size) Never had any problems with this one either. Now selling the 08 to get a new model.

I have an S/C 07 RRS and it has had zero issues. The regular maintenance is a bit pricey as with any luxury brand - I would say get a CPO car with an extended warranty and enjoy.

After I put the lowering links and 22" Rinspeed C5's on, I got a suspension fault gremlin, but thats it.

I'm considering a Cayenne GTS next, but how rock solid the RRS has been is making it tough to stray.
