I took my car in to have my new tires mounted, and saw this there -

When this car came out I thought the wheels were as beautiful as the car. Now I think they are ugly and ruin the look.

Good find.

The car was at Curry's Automotive in Chantilly. I left a business card for him, and hope to convince him to bring it out to some Cars & Coffee meets.

The story goes that Jaguar had taken deposits based on the original design that had a V12 and all-wheel-drive. When they could not make that work, and went to the turbo 6 and rear wheel drive, many took their 50,000gbp deposits back. Still a beautiful car...

Nobody was more shocked to find the XJ220 than I was. I asked the shop manager if we could get the owner to come to one of our C & C's, and was told that wouldn't happen. Too bad, as he also has a Diablo.

Separate issue - we had a guy show up at Katie's a few weeks ago with a beautiful Aston. I talked to him for awhile, and he told me he also had a Lexus LFA. He told me he'd bring it to Katie's soon. I have not seen it yet - I think he said he lives in the Bethesda area. Sure hope he turns up with it soon - I have not seen one in person yet.

dcolt is infamous around these parts
I got to see Max rip on his xj220 at the 2010 Gumball 3000. It as really cool in a matte grey finish. Here's a pic to the car in question: http://www.autoguide.com/gallery/gal...4/IMG_5562.JPG

It was slightly overshadowed by the gold plated Bugatti that was also there...
