Have you driven them both yet ? Thats important before you make any decision and keep in mind the new RR body style comes out end of next summer while the Cayenne S body style will not change for a couple yrs. Ive owned both vehicles and currently drive a 07 RR HSE and it is a good looking truck but not as much fun to daily drive as the Cayenne S was. Just my .02 tho both great choices GL.
Having owned both you have to ask what it is you want from the vehicle.
The Range Rover is superior off road ( IMO) and has a more commanding presence on the road. Its Automatic box is not as good as the Porsche's IMO
If you want performance then you must go for a Cayenne Turbo, not the normal V8. The supercharger Range Rover is quicker than the Cayenne s but no where near as quick as the Turbo. The Cayenne Turbo can also be tuned for at least another 100BHP without any problems.
I would say the Range Rover is more reliable than the Porsche but that's only my own experience. I bet there are loads more out there with different experiences.
Hope that helps a little.
