Amit Bhakta's 1622rwhp WORLD RECORD supra
The cars are amazing. However they came out at a time when people weren't willing to pay top dollar for high end Japanese sports cars. So that left them with a bad experience. Also with the current economy and the way gas prices were it wouldn't make any sense to bring the Supra back. Even if the Supra came back it would never be the same, just like the new GTR. They won't be the notoriously power Inline-6.
I hear what you are trying to say but Toyota is huge. If Nissan/Hyundai/Mazda can do it Toyota can do it with its hands tied behind there collective backs...They, however, dont NEED the Supra but we do
Its just a shame to let this car die at MKIV. Maybe they can go to congress and ask for the funds lol...

Don't forget that the exchange rate shifted considerably towards the end of the supra's production run, causing prices to spike. I doubt building a Supra now would be very profitable, and given the economy and Toyota's conservative nature, they're probably not too hot on building a loss leader
