converting an auto supra to manual easy?

I have found a supra for sale, it is the only available one in the country actually..but it is auto

if it is easy to convert an auto supra to manual, I am thinking of it.. thoughts, experiences?

its easy enough to do, but the question is which transmission to go with. a 5-speed swap is common place and is said to be able to handle 600hp. if you want the 6-speed then be prepared to spend a lot of money. although, it depends on your plans for the car... if you decide to make a lot of power and drag race, a GM TH400 swap is a popular option. its an automatic transmission, but has a manual valve body, so you actually have to shift. (no clutch though)

thanks for the answers guys. I am looking for a new project car and I am into supras for a while now but could not find a manual one for sale. I am looking to make a very powerfull (1000+ whp) roll car.

The Getrag 6 speed new is about $4,500 and IIRC you have to modify the trans tunnel somewhat. I don't think it's too difficult, and as RFFG said, spend some time over at supraforums.com. They have all the info on Supra's you could ever want over there.
