Acura Legend GS 6 speed - pictures
My third Acura Legend: 1994 GS blk/blk 6MT (yes I still have the other two. 51k miles and 110k miles both '95 GS sedans)
To quote my friend Tyson's post:
Not a “supercar” but a 6-speed nonetheless…
Here’s my 6-speed 1994 Acura Legend GS. It has 91,000 miles on the odometer and is 1 of only 635 Legend sedans sold with the 6-speed manual that year. This car is Granada Black Pearl with Black interior and is equipped with the 230-hp 3.2 V6 “Type II” motor. I have owned it for just over two years and have done the following subtle upgrades:
- SR5GUY performance chipped ECU
- custom one of a kind JDM "LEGEND" red third brake light
- custom painted engine covers
- JDM door sill kick plates
- OEM fog lights
- OEM intersection lights
- OEM JDM one piece headlights
- Stromung exhaust
- Burlwood and leather wrapped steering wheel from Craft Customs
- red/clear/red tail lights
- JDM rear one piece floor mat
Since I joined the Acura Legend forum in Feburary of 2007, through reading over all the posts, and for sale ads it was apparent that the hardest Acura Legend to find was a black on black six speed manual transmission sedan.
With that in mind I began to keep a very close eye on the internet car sales sites, eBay, and a program I use to search all of craigslist all across the lower 48 states and Canada. Checking each one of these on the average of every other day.
Came across an ad on cars.com and zapped an email to the dealership over in New Castle Deleware (35 minutes SW of Philly) that had posted the ad and asked for more pictures and any history on the car. I looked up the dealers website and saw that they had a dozen or so other pictures that just the one listed on cars.com. Ran the carfax which was clean except for the fact that the car was an East coast car from day 1. (salt on the roads)
Emailed with the salesman for about a week, and asked for more pictures. The third week I put a deposit on the car, made my airline/rental car/hotel reservations, and flew from Seattle to Philadelphia on Super Bowl Sunday '09.
The dealership was closed by the time I arrived. (hotel was right across the street) After I checked into my hotel I drove across the street and found that I could drive right to the back of the car lot where the car was. I had packed a very bright pilot's flashlight (Surefire) and since there was nobody there, I spent the next hour looking around the car and shining the light through the windows to check out the interior and looking for any signs of rust. This is an East coast car after all. I found ZERO rust, and after laying on my belly and back shining my little light all under carriage, the underside of the car looked the same as my other two back home.
Got up the next day, drove across the street, checked her out, started her up, let her idle for about 20 mins. In that time another employee (early 30'ish) from the dealership came over and told me that was HIS car. Well, it was his Dad's but when his dad bought the Acura SUV this guy drove it around for awhile. After the history lesson the salesman and I jumped in and then drove her for the next 75 minutes or so. After the test drive I told the saleman I'd take her, and much to my suprize while we were at his desk the previous owner (dealership employee) came up and dropped a file with maintence reciepts on the desk saying that his Father found these earlier this morning.
Called the shipping company and told them the car was ready for pick up now if they had a truck in the area. I took lots of pictures of the car including the "key handoff" but somehow I managed to let the camera slip out of my backpack on one of the flights home... Ugh.
Shipping from coast to coast was around $950.00 and took about 8 days... The LONGEST 8 DAYS I CAN REMEMBER!!
Shes not perfect. There are some scratches, chips, and other various defects, but she was nice enough for me to fly across the country to buy her.
As she came off the shipping truck

daveCFPrez,
You've done amazing work on this '94 GS...I gotta admit, pound 4 pound, the cleanest Black GS I have ever seen.....
I am also looking to do some mods to my white 94 GS so can you share the links for where you purchased the following :
- OEM fog lights
- OEM intersection lights
- OEM JDM one piece headlights
- red/clear/red tail lights...
Thanks

I came acrosss the fogs, intersection, and JDMs via fleaBay.
The JDMs were advertised with "a few small scratches." When they showed up there was nothing small about the scratches, so I ended up wetsanding, buffing and re clear coating them.
The R/C/R tails I had custom made for me over in Japan. They ended up costing me a very pretty penny.
