direction

people will buy it because its a Porsche!!!
personally, i think Porsche would be safer if they made more "affordable cars" something to compete with more compact sports cars than build cars people cant really afford especially in these times... maybe a 1 series competitor and not a quatroporte competitor?

While I suspect that it wont be as stunning as any Italian cars I'm sure it will be and excellent piece engineering of work from Porsche.

Porsche has really played up the release of this car by not showing the real deal for a long time. I'm amazed they have been able to keep the real car hidden so long? So either its a real dog or its much nicer.

Got stuck in traffic next to one on 287 in NY Friday night. So much camo on it still. The whole rear, the headlight lines, and the fog lights were all masked out in black tape. I wouldn't go so far as to say there were fake parts on the rear, but something was certainly not production trim back there.

There were also two white diagonal lines dotted out to distract from a generous square bump in the center of the hood. Forced induction? Room for prototype hybrid parts? Dunno. Traffic was basically stopped, so no chance to hear anything.

The overal size seemed reasonable.

Looked like a CLS with the trunk rounded off into a curved rear.

With Porsche September sales down dramatically (45% decline compared to Sept. 2007), Porsche needs something new in their showrooms to boost sales. I wonder if they'll move up the production date.

The actual rear end of this car is totally different than what is shown here.

well we can only hope because what is shown here is a total *** stain.
a 4 door hatch is a horrible idea. It looks awkward, etc.

Porsche tried something similar in the early 90's then scrapped the project. The rear end is exactly like the Cayman. They also covered up the aerodynamics of the side skirting and front spoiler. I think they will have it together this time around and provide a good alternative to the Maserati and Astin Martin type.
