wow -2nd gear red lines at 45mph?

testdrove the basalt black loaded launch 4s - i can't believe the same engine as my GTS capped out in 2 nd gear so early.
i could only get up 70km p/h - up in canada we are metric! - in second and it was just getting to redline so i had to go to 3rd which meant i was driving in the city in 3rd at like 3k rpm ie no torque when driving at city speed limits.
otherwise the car is absolutley amazing imo. the basalt black with the Spyder wheels were amazing. the interior is so beatiful in that full leather. comfortable and everything is where you would expect. the centre console took no more than a few minutes to master.
it was like being in a 2 seater until you looked around and reminded yourself that it is actually big.
the sport exhaust sounds so nice when you hit it. all this music coming from the rear end.
did people notice the cool way they built the split in the rear seat shoulder so you can place the seat belt in there after taking it off. it reminded me of the way you cup the seat belt in the Boxster so it hooks along the seat side and doesn't wrinkle.

the gears cap out so much ealrier than in the GTS - 2nd in the GTS gets you to 100kmph but also has power down to 50 kmph so it is really a useful power band around town. the Panamera just had no power band torque in town around speed limits.
the sound of the sport exhaust was really nice but not quite as low and didn't gurggle as much. backing off after hitting it though, you got that neat gurggle/back fire sound 0 bottom line the exhaust is not as agressive as the GTS sound.

around that (45mph in USA) speed you are reving too high for second but you have no torque if you shift to 3rd - i find that very frustrating
