Panamera Turbo acceleration. Overrated?

Panamera Turbo seems amazingly fast to me but you need to look at any car as a whole. The Pana has a wonderful interior, handles well and has all the tech gadgets you’d expect in this class of car and can actually carry stuff and move you around in the snow (not talking Buffalo, New York level snow).
You could buy a brand new fully optioned Chevy Camaro and have any tuner bump it to 750hp, or do the same with a Z06 or even boost a ZR1 or Viper ACR. All of these would be well below a Pana and better options if your main interest is speed.

with air suspension i think the panamera could do a Buffalo winter = or at least 95% of that winter

Hmmm 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and 11.7@118 mph isn't exactly sedan pace, oh that's right that sports car pace! If you don't like the Panamera Turbo in a straight line soon you will have options to make it alot faster. The LC and the PDK make this car an absolute rocket out of the gate, and even though the trap speed shows the car can't completely escape the laws of physics its still the fastest sedan on the planet. The only other sedan to trap 118 mph bone stock is the CTS-V and you could never drive one of them on public roads with the commitment you could drive a Panamera unless your last name is Millen or Hamilton!
In case you guys have not read the CTS-V already equals the E63 and M5's pace on the road and racetrack and in some cases it handles better and is faster ( like in a straight line). The Panamera Turbo is a car thats easier to drive at 9/10th's than an M5 is to drive at 7/10th's (per Motor Trend). The only drawback is its rear 3/4 view and and its immense price.
If they can manage to match the relative light weight of the Pan Turbo the M5 may be an equal to the Pan Turbo in a straight line but it will not ever be able to handle and put the power down as well as the Pan Turbo does.

I had a 550 hp M5 and it was very fast. It would easily eclipse 200mph but had a lot of traction problems and was extremely difficult to launch on the streets.
The panamera turbo is a different car. The AWD and PKD make this car a rocket out of the whole on most surfaces and sprints to 120mph are awe inspiring. This car is only supposed to top out at 188mph, but it does it so much better. The M5 felt a little loose over 160 but the pana just hunkers down and feels rock solid (must be the adjustable rear spoiler).
I would GUESS that my modded M5 would walk a stock panamera turbo in an 80-170mph race but that is modded vs. stock. The turbo will be easily upgraded and the top end performance will be stunning once the aftermarket has time for development; a simple chip and exhaust should be enough.
The E55 is an aweful car and always has been. It has the worst suspension of any of the top end sedans, not to mention the POS slushbox.
My M5 had all the Dinan suspension goodies and light BBS wheels and I think the stock panamera in sport plus mode handles much better! I love that I can lower the car, tighten the damping, and engage the swaybar control at the push of a button, then raise the car for parking lot duty. A stock M5 handles like a wallowing pig compared to this car.
The stock brakes on the Porsche are way better than what the M5 or MB or CTS-V have to offer and my ceramic brakes work very very well.
Yes $140-160k is pricey but the money is evidenced in every part of the car from the seats to the communication system. You could wait 5 years and pick up one for much less. This car is the fastest sedan out of the box and will rip on just about anything stoplight to stoplight.

Funny cause my m5 at 195mph on GPS was locked down to the road.. At 160 I can drink coffee in it and read the paper.. LOL
My gt3 on the other hand you better have both eyes on the road cause if you run over a quarter itll tell you if it was heads or tails.. havent had a chance to drive the panamera..
