Once you know the options you want for your car I've found the internet is really the only way to make a purchase. As a previous poster said there are really four things that make up the cost to you. If you're looking in the local area most up front costs (destination and handling) tend to be constant. The three major factors are the selling price, residual factor, and money factor. The residual factor is set by the lender and cannot be changed. So if the dealers are all using the same lender that will be constant. The money factor is also set by the lender, but some dealers will mark this up to make more profit. The selling price is the value for which the dealer wants to sell the car. It can be sticker, over sticker, or under sticker. If you request it, most dealers will give you the car at the buy rate (the money factor charged by the bank). So with the given residual factor and common buy rate, the best deal will come from the dealer with the lowest selling price. So basically, if you want the best deal call up your local dealers, ask for the Internet Sales Manager, tell him you want the car at the buy rate, and ask him what's his selling price. That's pretty much it. Hope this helps.
