I"m wondering whether to order the Adaptive Cruise in a Pan S.
I've never owned a car with that feature but have looked forward to a new car with it for some time. But, now that I look into it, I have some reservations.
For those of you using it, how do you find it?
Does it brake aggressively if someone cuts in front of you, or in sharp curves in multi-lane traffic and that sort of thing?
Is it hard to get used to having it slow you to zero and restart?
Are you glad you have it? Wished you didn't? Other?
Thanks

I have it on my CTT and its the identical system. For me its great, but many people who dont really use cruise control think its a waste of money.
I have it in our mini-van, had it in the Lexus LX570, and now the CTT is the 3rd car with it for me. It is much better then the other two in that you can set 4 different distances from the cars in front of you and it slows you to a complete stop as opposed to the others just slow you down till about 20mpg then it turns off. It does not brake when taking a sharp turn, and only brakes hard if it is needed.
Overall,
Pros:
-very safe for when you are dealing with kids in the back seat or any other distraction and all the sudden traffic is about 50mph slower then you, it will hit the brakes and give you a warning beep for you to take over.
-in very slow stop and go traffic common here in S.cal, you can just sit and relax and rarely have to touch either pedal.
-prevents me from getting tickets and being the car that is passing everyone for the cops to see.
Cons:
- in normal flowing but heavy traffic where people are constantly changing lanes then it becomes very intrusive and is slowing more then I feel is needed. I just dont use it at these times.
Hope this helps!

The previous explanation was terrific.
It is a costly option, so you need to determine if it is cost-effective value.
Remember the original owner eats ~90% of the option costs. So build the car for your needs and fun factor.
