So, something strange happened yesterday with my PTT. Got in the car, started her up and my XM was no longer included in the tuner lineup. The day before, everything was fine. Drove around for a bit, went to a store for an errand, came back and started the car back up and low and behold, the XM was back. Anyone hear of this or have it happen to you??? Might just be electronic gremlins but completely losing all XM functionality is a bit strange...

 

Have had my 2011 PTT for almost 4 months now and use it mainly as a daily driver, and have had no electronic issues...but if it happens again, i would bring it in and see if there are any software updates, etc...and make sure the service dept knows about it. How old is your car? What year?

Do you mean that you lost any sign of the XM channel, or was it a situation where the XM access or programming got dropped?

I ask, because I have had a problem with my XM subscription signal getting dropped a few times.. I suddenly find that all I can receive is the promo stations and limited access.. Each time I have called XM and they have "sent" a new signal to reset my service.. This is either an issue with my own XM tuner or their service. If it continues I will have Porsche check my satellite tuner and antenna.

 

It is a PCM issue - My PCM was replaced 5 Times. Take it to the dealer and take photos with your phone to document the missing menus.

Thanks for the response. That's exactly what happen - PCM completely failed to recognize the SAT. Going to give the dealer a call tomorrow.

 

There is a a service bulletin on the PCM for the XM radio. I had intermittent XM failure too. The service bulletin was done and no issues since.

 

Was this a software or programming issue, or did they replace hardware or module?

 

So now this has happened to me twice this week - PCM did not have Sat as an option in "Source" Then it came back on later after car off for a while.
Does a software update fix? or a new PCM

Have your dealer check the codes in your PCM and make sure it matches the options on your car - if they don't match goofy stuff like that happens. Mine was replaced 5 times by the dealer on my 2010 4S.
