Police get a Porsche Panamera
There'll be no shortage of volunteers to drive this Porsche Panamera police car.
Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) has made a car available for the first time to NSW Police as part of its expanding its corporate social responsibility program.
The idea is designed to create curiosity and bring people towards the car so that police may engage them on local issues at community events. The Porsche Panamera will look just like a real NSW police car and be prominent on Sydney roads and at police promotional displays, but it will not be used to chase crooks.
You're unlikely to see it in the western suburbs however. Harbourside Local Area Command in Sydney's north will be responsible for the car. “Porsche has a strong community spirit and we are proud to work with the NSW Police on this initiative,'' Porsche Cars Australia Managing Director, Michael Winkler, said.
“This is the first time we've made available a Porsche to any police force in Australia and the curiosity factor alone of a Panamera in police decals should help the NSW Police achieve awareness and engage people in its community programs.''
Porsche has made the white Panamera sedan available for an initial six-month period, with an option for a further six months should the NSW Police see further benefit.
