10K inspection
10K inspection
As I neared 10K miles on my Panamera, I got an oil and filter change. The dealer suggests I also do their 10K "inspection" which for another $175 inspects 27 points around the car. My inclination is that this is not a good use of money, but was interested in input from other Porsche owners as this is my first Porsche.

They charged just under $200 for the oil change, which was about 3X what I pay for oil changes on my NSX and BMW. However, it does take 9+ quarts of Mobil 1, and I am told it is difficult to get to the filter and cap, plus I was able to do it when they had the car already and I was in a loaner. If I had wanted to do the two together, I would have paid $360 instead of $200 and then the $175.

It should take the mechanic less than 30 minutes to look around and make sure everything is right.
Don't pay for the multipoint inspection. they always do multipoint for free because if they find something wrong with car they get to fix it under warranty and bill large for it to Porsche. They thus have vested interest in doing inspection even if you "don't want it"
