This is consistent with what I've been hearing - the new M5 is a big and heavy car. One big surprise is there's no mention of the sound!!

 

You mean the way they play back the engine through the speaker?

A few mags have posted that now that the awd amg and rs6/7 cars are revealed with awd, the new M5 suddenly feels Old even new. I really Like the M5, nyt I somewhat agree. That said IMO the new M5 is the best M5 since the e39.

 

I'm not a fan of the Bangle era Bimmers. And the V8 M3 and V10 M5 seemed to me like BMW strayed from their formula and took a page out of Mercedes' playbook.

 

This is an endless debate, there are v8 people and there are v10 people, I personally hate low torque high revving engines, v8 for me. For some reason E60 M5 owners seem particularly sensitive about their cars, I think it had something to do with the fact that it was beaten by the competition until you reached 200km/h, which most never did.

 

i keep thinking i will chuck the 2 vehicles and go for on of these last GTS's. every review is sooo good.

did you see the Excellance on the GTS vs the 4S?

 

The mighty M5 ran a 1/4 mile of 12.4s, no wonder you didn't post this on M5board...

When I first read this I thought it was the manual one. Seems BMW is delivering real cars now, not only press cars...
