Sports chrono/clock

Has anyone switched the sports chrono in a 2010 for the sports chrono that has a clock? (the newer models have the clock option).

I inquired about this with my dealer and the part alone was $1000 and obviously labor costs to switch it out. Since they had never done it they couldn't guarantee it would actually work. I decided to pass

I have an early build 2010 and my chrono has a setting to have it run as a clock during normal driving.
