Body kit void OEM Warranty?

Hi guys,

I've been reading various posts on the web about how strict Porsche is with their OEM/CPO warranties. Will an aftermarket body kit void a warranty, or is it only mods to the drive train, etc.?

Thank you in advance.

Typically dealer specific. If your mod directly caused the damage they will not warranty. More of a problem with engine mods to do with racing. Its unlikely your body kit will cause a problem.

Thanks, that's what I figured but was spooked by some threads about service depts being ridiculous about what voids the warranty. The Panny TT is my first Porsche so wasn't sure how they deal with mods. I've never had problems with mercs or bmws. Appreciate the help.

There's too many Porsche dealers in the Bay Area and they are within 30-45 miles of each other. They wouldn't want to lose a business just by not honoring a warranty. One can just drive to another dealer if they refuse to honor the warranty. Unlike other states where a dealer is too far apart hence they have sort of a monopoly within that state. Porsche dealers in the Bay Area have tough competition, they'll do whatever it takes to keep your business.

That would have been my guess as well, but I heard of someone having their car "black listed" by a service rep at Rector so that he actually couldn't go anywhere else to have it worked on under warranty either. Granted it was an ECU tune and not something cosmetic, but still, that seems like a pretty extreme action. Good to know that this may have just been an outlier case.

I've read nothing but bad reviews on Rector which is why I am staying away from them. Sonnen is much nearer to me but I hate driving through the whole city just to get to the GG Bridge. Hence I am driving a little further to Carlsen, been there twice and it was pleasant.
