Ideal Tire Pressure - Panny GTS

I have found that the GTS, as with most of the p-cars I have owned, is very, very sensitive to tire pressure adjustments. While Porsche certainly knows what they are doing, I have often (this car included) felt that their recommended settings were more for the safety and comfort of the masses, as opposed to the people on this board, enthusiasts that really want to maximize the handling.

I had been running the recommended 40front and 37 rear (for std load, partial, summer), but found that it made the front a tad floaty.

Anyway, on Kips' recommendation I changed the (cold) pressure the other day to 42front and 42 rear...man, what a difference. The car felt more planted, turned in better, did not track the "pitch" the turnpick as much. Anyway, just thought I would put it out there. I think part of it has to do with the "soft" sidewalls of the pirellis...they likely need a couple more ppunds of air to provide better stabilization. once I swap these out for the Michelin PSS', based on prior experience, I assume I can likely run 39 or 40 all around and achieve the same effect.

Curious as to others' experience.

Cole

Thanks Tom.....makes sense, as I would imagine 42 cold, equates to about same its amazing what a difference these settings made over the stock recommended ones.

On a different note, I am in LOVE with this GTS...but gotta think the Turbo S is just insane....lucky dude you are!
