Brake dust - What's a girl to do?

So. I can't tell you how many mani's I have dee-stroyed wrestling with the epic Porsche Satan = brake dust.

Back in the day, there was a product you could buy - Kleen Wheels or some such - that was supposed to help, but I seem to remember its causing overheating, and I'm sure it also looked/looks like holy hell on a largely open wheel meant to showcase Porsche's sexy calipers.

Anyway, is there a cleaner that won't mean me over-exerting myself to the point of - - perspiring, (and ruining my nails)?

Thanks muchly.

Just get a set of black 20' wheels. You wont have break any more nails - brake dust hardly shows up.

If you want to rid the brake dust problem, there's only one solution: change your brake pads.

Here are some examples:
EBC Brakes DP31858C Redstuff Ceramic Low Dust Brake Pad : Amazon.com : Automotive EBC Brakes DP31858C Redstuff Ceramic Low Dust Brake Pad : Amazon.com : Automotive

Of course they also dust, but not as much as the ones you're using.

If you chose not to change the pads, u need to buy a hand held blower (might as well need surgical masks and goggles too) and blow them away!

there are many products you can spray on and hose off

also a boars hair brush will save your nails (didnt know you were actually a female!!)

changing the pads will also cut down on it tremendously

I went for black wheels and carbon ceramic rotors = great brakes and near virtually no dust!!

Tom, did you have the wheels and caps powder coated or did you buy them that way?

Tom, thanks for the tips. And I am loving those wheels. They are really good-looking.

My pouting was successful, so I'm getting my 20's.
How many women want wheels and tires for their B-day, lol.

If I'm not mistaken, those are OEM wheels from Porsche. They come painted like that from factory as an option when you spec them out, or you can buy them later for a gazillion dollars or maybe a little bit more, and yes they are forged wheels.

Ive got the same wheels as Tom above and I dont think the dust shows that badly. U lose a bit of shine but beyond that no worries.

Interesting Tom........ do you know what the offsets are on those rims by chance? Are you still using stock size rubber on those 1/2 inch wider rims? If the offset is enough to push the rim out away from the hub enough the extra 1/2 inch in rim width would open the door to potentially using 285 35 20 front and 335 30 20 rears!
