Tire Pressure Question

Gents - Lately, been driving the car using 43/43 cold pressures....Don't tell my wife, but I tend to drive the car fairly aggressively (aka FUN) as my DD, such that after a spirited drive on the way to work, or around town, the tires get to around 47 hot. I have the crap pirellis, and the extra pressures in the tires seems to eliminate much of the "squirelliness" of their sidewalls.

Question is this: Even tho the car feels quite good to me at these pressures, is 47 hot simply too much pressure? Not so much concerned about faster wear or anything, as tires are the price of admission to the fun factor. More concerned that at 47 psi hot, the tires may be approaching their limit, and I could have a blow out?

Any thoughts? I know from other threads, it seemed as if a number of guys ran similar cold pressures (which I assume have to heat up comparably), so i assume not an issue, but it was on my mind and I wanted to get some insight.

Thanks

BTW, got a chance to drive my buddy's '14 M5 with the competition package on it....holy crap can that car haul assss....I may have to get one when this lease is up

If you're not running over 100 mph for long stretches, I'd keep the tire pressures much lower for best handling. Lower pressures=more tire patch contact=better grip up to a point. Also if you run lower pressures to begin, your tires will heat up more. I know on the track with my Cayman I'll run starting pressures of 23 psi on Hoosiers and end up at 38 psi. I would experiment with the lower pressures and see what works.
