Question on Panamera GTS purchase

Guys,

I sold my 2013 M5 (heavy and boring with no soul) and am looking for a new daily driver. I am very interested in a Panamera GTS Porsche, it seems to do everything so well…plus I miss having a Porsche

Are their any options for resale that are must haves on a GTS? They seem to come very well equipped as is.

I have located a very nice 2400 mile 13' Panny GTS. The car has some great options but has the base stereo, no BOSE or BUREMEISTER. Is the base stereo rubbish our sound decent?

Thanks!

Great car..... too expensive to have the base stereo.

GTS comes pretty well optioned but 18 way seats are nice, bose, PDCC, turbo II wheels, lane change and some others. There was a recent thread on this very topic. Also we like the sport steering wheel but no heat.

GL.

I test drove the F10 M5 and the PGTS and in the end, I had an emotional connection with the PGTS vs. the M5 which felt more sterile.

The stock stereo is crap. I listened to the stock, Bose and burmester before I decided on Bose because the extra $ wasn't. Justified to my ears for the burmester. I would suggest listening to a setup and decide on your own.

I have the bose in mine more than adequate and quite nice sound plus, the GTS exhaust is just incredible like no other stock exhaust I have ever heard

Thanks for the comments guys. Given my other cars all have upgraded stereos from the factory I am going to wait and find a PGTS with a upgraded setup, BOSE should be more than enough. I do like music and listen the the stereo often so best to wait!

I recently drove a gts with burmester. Both of mine (soon to be all three) have Bose. To my ears, I felt the Bose sounded better. Could've been a defective speaker in burmester or settings but was a little tinny sounding. I'm very happy with Bose.

well, if you find yourself in the S FL area, you are more than welcome to come drive mine and experience it to help make a decision. And, if I am in VA, I will beg you to let me go for a spin with you in the 458? Is that car simply amazing? On that note, had a question for you. If all goes well, I will be selling my business this year. As a treat to myself, although my GTS will stay as my daily driver (until the lease is up), I am looking to get a "supercar." I want to spend around $150K so have it narrowed to a) '10-11 Gallardo spyder, b) 09' ish f430 spyder, or c) a new Audi R8v10 spyder. I know the G and R8 may not be as exotic as the F car, but given what I have read, the dependability of the cars is quite good. How have you found the Ferrari to be so far? This would be my weekend car, but not a garage queen...I would plan to drive it 5-6K miles ayear for sure.

So bummed to hear that that you did not lke the m5. I have had several M3 variants, including a few convertibles, and always loved that car. now that I am older (48), I felt the M3 was a little to racerish for me, and was going to consider the M5 next...however, other than from the "fan boys," I am not heraing all that much that is good. May have to re-up on another GTS, or possibly look at one of the AMG variants.

Cole, where in S Fla are you? I'm in Weston. (Did I already ask you this a few months back? If so, my apologies. Memory not what it used to be).

Something VERY off. We have Burm in our GTS and I have bose in my Cayenne/991 and it's not even close.

Cole,

The Ferrari experience is amazing. I have owned a number of cars including a Porsche Boxster S, 993, 993 Turbo ( I know, should have kept it), Stage III 997 Turbo, and a F430 coupe. Though all of these cars were great to own a Ferrari just has the most soul and drama when driving, it is a "treat" every time I get behind the wheel of the 458 Italia. That being said I would buy a F430 spider if I were you. The F430's have stabilized in the market and are simply a wonderful car with great reliability for an exotic. My first Ferrari was a F430 coupe and the car was fantastic. Ferraris are mileage sensitive and can be a pain to own at times as they get A LOT of attention, so make sure this will not bother you.

As for the 2013 M5 I sold the car, it felt numb to me and heavy. The dual clutch tranny was decent but the steering was awful, no feel. Granted, with a 458 Italia in the stable many other cars will not feel nearly as balanced and good but I have had the privilege to own so many cars and the new M5 was a disappointment. The exhaust was too quiet and to me it just lacked the excitement a car of $100,000 price tag should offer. It was fast in a straight line but thats about it, so I sold it a few months ago. And yes I will admit, the roaring 10 cylinders of the previous M5 was better!

I truly love Porsches that is why I am looking to get back into one. The Panamera GTS seems to be the perfect daily driver and will compliment the 458 Italia wonderfully. But, if you are looking for the car that is "special" go for a Ferrari, you won't regret it!

Attached are pics of my 2008 F430 coupe and the 2012 458 Italia

man...I think the 458 is without question, the nicest looking car on the road...lucky you! enjoy that beauty. i'll keep you posted if I pull the trigger on a 430.

as for the GTS, as stated, it is an awesome car. if I was closer to the end of my lease, I would offer you mine. however, I am going to enjoy this car for another year and a half. Then, the problem will become what to get as the next DD...there is just not much out there that excites me, except maybe an AMG variant

Zing! Let me know if you're interested in a '14 GTS. I have a basalt black with 2.5K miles on it. Life has been a bit more kind than expected and I have build on a '14 turbo that's coming late next month. It's a sweet ride, fully loaded with Bose.

Cheers

I have my heart set on a white GTS, but thanks!

I found a nice new 14' GTS optioned almost identical to how I want it. How much should I expect to get off MSRP, 5% off MSRP or is that dreaming??

Thanks
