Gents - I've cheated the grim reaper for about 7 months and now finally have my first front no license plate ticket. The PA guys got me on my way in to the Holland Tunnel going to NJ using the Canal street approach.

The weather is nice so they're out now. I'm thinking about using a different approach into the tunnel. I ordered a Rho-Plate let's see how that looks, but still not ready to drill into the bumper.

 

I too have gone 7 months w/o mounting my front plate. I got questioned once on 42nd street while waiting in traffic, The officer was nice about it saying that he could understand not wanting to defile the car looks, but suggested I get the plate mounted in the front as the next guy won't be lenient. I haven't done it yet though. I bought the "front plate tow hook mount kit" (107.95 delivered) which is still in the box. I know it's only a matter of time until I get nailed. I'm not sure what I will do, but I do know I will not drill holes into the bumper.

 

I got the US MILL WORKs, its good no problems pretty easy to instal and doesn't impact the front bumper sensors.

 

You can have tints, no plates, etc. all over NY without a problem but once you enter 5 borough NYC area - they will get you. They got me for tints twice but I still have not taken them off. I just pay the ticket and screw it. Once I get the Panny, I will definitely get the Millworks plate.
Pay the ticket and keep driving for another 7 mts. LOL

The problem in NYC is PAPD + Bridge & Tunnel Cops + Traffic People = lots of people without anything to do that can write tickets!
