Prowling for a PTT

Ok, so wife said 997.1TT had to go. But I've talked her into letting me trade the GL450 in on a PTT (yes I'm spline less when it comes to my wife but I've long since accepted that and moved on.)

I've found the perfect one I'm looking for with sport package, brum audio, XM, and camera. Right color, miles and price. The only problem is it has PCCBs. I can't afford 10k brake jobs.

I'm planning on keeping it for 3-4 years at 20k miles/yr. I will run it at the local Autocross 8x/yr and DE probably 2x/yr.

Should I just pass on this one and wait for the right one to come along or is there an angle I'm not thinking of here? Thx!

Samp will become famous soon enough
I really want to hear you tell us how pissed she is when you tell her that you have spend $10,000 to $12,000 on the second break job in a year.

My wife is giving me sh$$ for putting film on the PTT.

Buy what you like but I have heard that tracking this breaks is $$$$

LOL! Ya, I'd have to hide that expense somehow because I'm not sure I have anyone that would even come looking for my body...

Not sure why you are concerned about the pccbs. If anything they will save u dollars in the long run.they are meant to be lifetime rotors, the only enemy of pccbs are heat and I am talking lots of it . I came from a 700hp Nissan GT-R that I tracked around 50 days and replaced solis iron rotors about ever seen 15 days (by comparison pads every 5 day). Since auto cross days do not generate the heat of a 20-30 minute track session you should have no worries. So buy it, and worse case scenario if you burn out the pccbs replace with iron. In the meantime I can assure you you would have had to replace 3 sets of iron to 1 pccb as such you would still be money ahead.

Great info! I'm taking the plunge. It really is everything I wanted on a PTT and it is actually in my price range.

I'll miss my 997.1TT cab but this is a heck of a consolation prize. . Hopefully this will be the ultimate family car for many years to come that I can still go play in....

Nice Price

That is a nice price! I just picked mine up (178K sticker) but a lot of crazy stuff.... you'll love the burm... I have had some nice stereo's but this is the bomb!

http://foxmotorsports.com/index.php?...details&id=189

I paid 89,900 so 20K more. I knew I was overpaying but it was a 5700 mile car from a car collection I knew was perfect and had every maintenance done despite the low miles, plus they CPO'ed it for 2 years and new winter tires on it for me and store the summers.

Consider yourself lucky!

That is awesome! Definitely worth the extra. 5k miles Is like buying new at half the price! I really wanted the adaptive cruise control just because I've never had it. Do you use the sports exhaust at all? How many miles do you have now?

Great deal -- you really can't go wrong with a Panny Turbo, like I always say when we get drivers behind the wheel of them, they are absolutely blown away with what this car can do!

I've had it about 3 weeks so far and put in about 600 miles, I do like the sport exhaust sort of nice to add the noise! Adaptive cruise is nice as well

Firstly congrats to both of you. (Slakker and sjj31). It's such a euphoric feeling to pickup the car for the first time. I drove 300 miles to get mine. It's interesting the difference in price between both cars. The biggest factor I think is the mileage, below 10K miles the price goes up a lot hence the price sjj31 paid.
I still look online at PTT prices since I got mine. Lol. Just love the car.

I got the pccb fantastic brakes. Hopefully will trade it in before I reach 100k so don't see it as an expense at least not on my watch. Right now it's got a tad over 11k.

Every now and then I hear them squeal. Not a problem for me. Best part is no or hardly any dust on the wheels. And if there is any dust it's very easy to wash it off. If you text a lot while driving this is the best thing you can get. Save you from a manslaughter charge. Jk. don't text. Enjoy and appreciate this gift it's truly a great car.

Congratulations Slakker and good with the sale of the Cab. It should go quick at that price, I've always loved that color combo.
