Rear wiper retrofit?

Hey all! New to this forum and was wondering if anyone can tell me about the feasibility of adding a rear wiper to an '11 turbo that was not ordered with one. I am thinking of buying it but since i live in an area that snows alot i figured the wiper woud be helpful

It's probably neigh-impossible. Keep in mind that not only do you need to do significant work on the rear hatch, there's no control for it on the steering column, so that would need changes as well.

I know that when the topic came up on Planet 9 in connection with retrofitting a wiper on a Cayman, the answer ended up being "not possible."

There is also software issues as you can configure whether you want the rear wiper to activate with the front wipers when the transmission is at reverse.

lol...i figured...never easy with porsche, is it?
guess i will have to drive fast enough so the snow doesn't stick. thats mainly what i am worried about. The car is just sweet in every other way. hope i won't regret it.

I just put some Rain-X on the back window and have never had a problem with rain; and of course drive fast!

I just did a 600 mile trip to NH and back in snow and rain. Kept the rear defrost on throughout. It melted the snow and the back window was very clean and visible. I used to think I needed a rear wiper until this trip. BTW, I wasn't going fast - 60 max.

Interesting. Im used to an X5 that definitely kicks up spray and muck onto the back and would be horrible without a wiper. I figured snow would accumulate on the panamera since the rake is so shallow
