Range rover sport to panamera 4
Gentlemen - i have a PTT with snows, and live in New England. The car is very very good in the snow with the proper tires. Much better than all season. Is it as good as my wife's SUV with snow tires ? - no - but it's not an issue
And i do agree a better spec'd car is out there...........

My last RR was the big daddy and I had a winter (with Nokian snow tires) and summer set of wheels and tires. It did okay but nothing like the Jeep does with all seasons on it. I bought my CPO'd 2010 4s when it was two years old it stickered for around 123K plus the AWE exhaust was already on it. Granted it had about 24k miles but I got over 50K off the sticker price. You can get a better deal, like I told someone else on this board call Frank Tucci at Main Line Porsche. I have a lot of cars and I have probably not put 3k miles on it since I bought it but if you want a Panamera I would advice you to get two sets of wheels and tires and none of them should be 22". It is funny I have been a RR fan a long time then I bought one of those QX56"s (it had 22''s too) hated it and got rid of it in 6 months, then the Jeep (my 1st since the old CJ days) and I doubt I will ever buy any other brand again.
Which dealer did you sell it to? I would've gladly taken yours.
So I got a better trade in for my Range rover and managed to pull the price down to 77k however you guys are right that there are better spec'd car as I found brand new ones for around 82-84k with better options.
oh cool. Congrats on the purchase. So did you get the upgraded one or the red one w the pse?
Actually I didn't buy it. sorry for the misunderstanding. I am looking to install sport exhaust on the new P4 and working with the dealer on the price before closing the deal. I will update what I do, but do you guys think the carmine red is a good color?
here is a great article on what a panamera can do in winter. having said that, ground clearance and the shear size of the pano has kept me with my Cayenne.

Here is another panamera I am considering
Premium Package ($2,770)
Bi-Xenon-Headlights w/PDLS
Power Steering Plus
Front & Rear ParkAssist w/Reversing Camera
14-Way Comfort-Memory-Package
Front & Rear Seat Heating
Bose Audio Package ($2,120)
BOSE Surround Sound-System
SIRIUSXM Satellite Radio
HD Radio Receiver
Online Services
Can you guys weight in on whether I should get this new black panamera or the slightly used red one? Please help!
If price is not very different/affordability is not an issue, then consider the newer one. The black one seems to be better optioned out.
As recommended earlier by others too you may want to consider a used CPO P4s or Turbo('11). Mr. Price is one of the more eloquent, experienced blogger and makes compelling arguments for a CPO. Porsche has a good site for CPO cars.
The GTS maybe a bit pricier since they came out in 2013(need to confirm). I haven't driven the latest p4 maybe its a lot punchier than a 2011 model I had test driven some time back. All i recall is that it had better handling than the p4s. But I needed more juice. So I opted for a P4s. Had it for 5 months and took a beating to upgrade to a PTT.
So I could be totally wrong about the newer P4 - maybe they juiced it some more. I am vested in a PTT hence my bias towards the 4S/GTS/Turbo. Either way, you will not go wrong picking one and most likely upgrade. That's how Porsche has built its business. They hook you in and reel you in with more expensive toys
. This is a fun phase to learn more about the car you will be owning.

The options game LOL, well it is still not as bad as Ferrari (I had to pay for things like power seats when I ordered my 430 coupe) but keep in mind that if you were to trade the car the dealer would tell you all those options are not worth that much on trade in value, so that options road is sometimes a one way street. I have owned (40) a lot of Porsches and a lot more cars (over 430 in just the last 22 years) than most people and I have seen all the games that are played (which is why I usually only work with certain dealers and people mostly the ones I would go out and have a drink with) I trust and know well. I am on the other side of the car thing than most here have had the fast cars (and then made them faster) and always bought the top of the line fastest model, but I'm older (now) my eyes, reflexes, and my hearing are not what they used to be so I am in the been there done that stage, I still tinker but the reality is that the car in the photo was my crowning achievement around 600hp ( rebuilt from scratch at a total cost of more than a new Ferrari would cost you) no traction controls weighs around 2600lbs and can only be driven in certain weather conditions, which is why is 9 years old with under 16k miles. Funny thing is these days my favorite car to drive is my very modified Abarth. Porsche's are amazing cars but there is no way I would own a Panamera as my only car in my situation. Those video are great but one thing they don't mention is how low the radiator is under the left front and how easy is it (it already happened to me insurance paid close to 20K to fix it) to tear up the bottom of the engine bay from going over a chunk of ice that looked (like I said my eyes and reflexes are not what they used to be) like just snow on the highway. It worked out okay I ended up putting on the sport design package while it was being fixed.

Resolution I replied to your email but your email box is full so it wouldn't get sent. Here is what I tried to say in the email.
Does the 79k have the pse already on it or will be an after market one that you will have to install? Are you buying or leasing? How long do you plan on keeping it?
