Value of 2010 PTT- where to get info?

So - i was recently offered 55K for my 2010 PTT with 45 K miles by the dealer as a trade. Seemed too low, so i passed

Looking at various sites - KBB, NADA, porscheusa.com - retail for a car like mine around 70K

I was told that Manaheim auction numbers are used by dealers; and not KBB, NADA - which are lower

1) What sites to use for a clean trade in price?
2) What is the expected delta between my trade and dealer profit?

Used car dealers at auction go by NADA yellow booklet. Every dealer will low ball you - normal. They have to make at least $5-7k on this car. See how much they sell for at the daler, then compare to ebay or cars.com - and then put your value somewhere in the middle.

Not sure if a Porsche dealer gave you that number but I am guessing they are also considering the cost of the CPO as well as making their profit. I would agree that number is low but I have no idea what condition your car is in and what market values are in your neck of the woods. They could be looking at 5K to CPO the car and if that is the case the numbers start to look more realistic.

bobolouie,

I am a former car broker and have access to the mannheim auction numbers which I am glad to share with you.

2010 PTT average wholesale for a car with 35k miles is about $60k. A PTT with 59k miles sold 2 weeks ago for $55k at the auction.

This dealer was being quite conservative on his wholesale offer to you. Remember...he is also estimating what it will cost him to get the car ready for sale and if this is a porsche dealer, then what it would take to be CPO worthy. Often it will take thousands to get it to CPO standards and then additional couple of thousand to get the CPO warranty.

Sounds like maybe your car was not in pristine condition? Don't know of course. If this means a lot to you I would go back and tell him you want more for your car.

Let me know if I can help.

I am in CT and a possible buyer for your car (for me to own. I am just an ordinary guy, not in the business or anything).

Let me know if you think we should talk.
