Defective welds video is disturbing

For those of you who haven't watched the video of the lady in Georgia with the white Panamera.....you should take the time to watch. No one really knows at this point if this is a possible defect in every car body that was produced in the Volkswagen plant in Hannover. It made me sick to watch and to think that my Panamera could be hiding the same ticking time bomb. Very disturbing.

I've seen this same info about this lady before. To my knowledge, she is the only one this has happened to. Anyone else know any different?

This is highly unusual for the Porsche brand. I suspect there is more to this story. I wouldn't doubt if it had been previously repaired.

I hope you are right. She had about 5 -6 photos of other Pans that appeared to have the same failure. Porsche rep said they knew of none. She said she took delivery new from Atlanta dealer. Just bothers me a bit. I love my car and just hope this is an isolated case.

The weld defect stories on here are insane. Are all model year Panny's bodies constructed in Hannover?

I believe the Leipzig plant is about to begin producing their own bodies with the 2017 model. When I was there taking delivery of my 2014 the plant tour guide told me after the Macan line was up and running the company wanted to bring the body assembly to Leipzig. I've been under my hood looking at the welds that are visible and they look pretty good from the outside. Hope this is an isolated case. One blogger said this car had been crashed and repaired.

Not sure where I read the blog about the car being crash damaged. It was either here or Planet-9 or RennList. There's a lot to read on this then there's the 45 minute video. My question is if the car was truly a crash damaged vehicle would Porsche be willing to buy it back. Lots of angles to ponder on this fiasco. I just know that I love my car and want to be confident that Porsche would not risk their reputation by cutting corners on the assembly process. But it does make me think....
