Roll-up sunblind stopped working

The other day the rear window sunblind stopped working. When I press the button, the indicator lights up, but the blind does not move. I had a wheel rest on it (bringing a set of winter tires and rims home - saved my bacon this weekend!), perhaps there is a safety mechanism that prevents the motor from burning out.

I fiddled with the sunblind to see if it would move freely, but there is no way of moving it, as I could see.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,

(PS, they should call this a moron-with-high beam-blind; I love having this thing)

The blind can be removed so there are electric contacts at one end to supply electric. My guess is they are misaligned. Grab ahold of the blind mechanism and shake it a bit (carefully so not damaged). If that doesn't work the blind can be removed by pulling one end away from the mounting point. Haven't done this recently but it's a PITA. Remove it per the owners manual and check for damage to the contacts. Good luck!

Forgot to mention the blind is removed by shortening it along its axis then it can be pulled out.

I ended up pulling the shade up a bit to see if it would move at all. After that, the shade just worked. It automatically retracts too, so I guess all it needed was a gentle prod.

Thanks,
