Fuel economy - big surprise

I've been quite surprised by the fuel economy from my 2010 PTT which consistently registered low-mid 20's. After the VR tune I assumed it would get worse w/ the additional power, but not the case so far.

On a commute to Vail last week and back, I averaged 75 mph and had a number of opportunities to hit triple digits so fairly active w/ the turbos. The car's computer showed 24.7 mpg over the 240 mile drive - very impressive, particularly at high altitude.

Does everyone seem to get such good mileage from their Panny's?

On the highway I am around 28 mpg avg and have hit 38 mpg (at 65mph)(we have extremely flat roads down here in the low country). I wouldn't expect the tune to do much to your fuel economy when you are at cruise speed since the turbos aren't at boost.
When I fill up the tank and go straight to highway speeds my range shows well over 600 miles. Not bad for 640 hp.

Yeah, I am extremely impressed with this car. Made another run to Frisco yesterday afternoon (didn't go over Vail pass) and was reading 26 mpg by the time I got back to Denver. Lots of rush hour traffic slowed me way down and it dropped to 25.7 mpg by the time I made it home. What an unexpected benefit as I certainly did not buy this car for fuel economy.

I did have a very unfortunate accident 2 weeks ago when an idiot driver pulled an illegal U-turn and hit me on private property and when I told him I was going to call the cops he said "go ahead - I'm going to tell them that you hit me." I was steaming mad but rather than escalate the situation I decided to simply drive away. I'm hoping the clear bra sacrificed itself as I don't want to repaint my front bumper - should know more by tomorrow.

Did I mention that I really love this car?!?

Sorry to hear about your car and the frustration around the other driver trying to evade responsibility. Please let us know if the clear bra saved your paint. It's not made to withstand a collision but I have seen where it saves the day. Best of luck!

Thanks, Ed - I stopped by today to check things out and indeed the clear bra sacrificed itself (wore thru in places) but the paint was saved and is perfect. This shop had the headlights out, washer nozzles out and removed the hood crest- incredible attention to detail so they can wrap the material around the panels for a seamless fit. He's also going to cover the entire hood so no line to see. I'm just looking at this whole thing now as a clear bra replacement and upgrade.

At a younger age I don't think I ever would have reacted so calmly to such an a__hole. Be careful out there!
