2015 Pan4 - Replace Air Filter

I just replaced my 2015 PAN4 Air Filter with BMC Air Filter. I follow the instruction from http://www.insanegarage.com/diy-pana...-installation/ . I want to make a few corrections. You need to use T25 to remove the 9 T-screws from the bottom. It is a hard job, need to have 2 people to pull the bumper off and put the bumper back on. I don’t see how I can do it myself. I have to ask my son to help out.
I have to remove both headlights for this bumper job. I get to do it so I know. The local FJ Porsche or Stevenscreek Porsche charge $500 for the air filter replacement. Porsche Bodyshop asks for $280 labor.

So I also do Oil change as well. My car is 30K miles. The air filter is not too bad. It can go to 40K 2018 easily.

Here are few attached pictures. remove the metal tabs that hold the bumper. Remove the headlight water hose on the passenger side. I use dishwasher to spray the bumper joints to help out. Have fun to replace air filter.

Thanks so much for that info, very helpful for DIYers.

One has to wonder were the engineers complete idiots to design it that way, or brilliant for the service revenue it generates.

I believe this is an intentional design to get revenue out of service. Per Michelin labor book for Air Filter replacement with bumper removal is 3 Hrs. For Porsche Cayenne, it is an easy job for air filter.

911, the job is same as panamera. hurt my $pocket @ Porsche dealer. LOL ...

LOL, possibly! I found it relatively easy to do though...its not a difficult task just time consuming and one reason to consider aftermarket intake options.
