Oil Pressure gauge pegged at 3

I just test drove a 2010 Panamera 4S and the oil pressure gauge was pegged at 3 bars on a cold start. Over time it started dropping a little below but even after driving a long time it never went below 2 bars.

Seems like the oil pressure sender is maybe bad? Or maybe the gauge itself? 3 is the new 5?

not sure what the 2010 gauge looks like but the numbers sound right. Mine runs around 3.

Thanks for the link. Coming from the 911 world I expected 5 bars until warmed up. Even on a cold start it's around 3 bars? This manual doesn't really specify what it should be when cold.

Thanks, I actually drove that same P4S again today and on a cold start it was close to 3.5 bars too. I drove it a lot more today and after warming up it was between 2-4 bars depending on engine RPM's which sounds like maybe that's just normal for this car.

My 997 is usually pegged at 5 bars except for when idling with a hot engine it maybe drops as low as 2.5 depending on how hot the oil is running. So it seems pretty different from how this Panamera engine runs.
