Panamera strange sound from below
I recently purchased a 2013 S model with low miles and noticed a strange sound. I'm hoping someone here can give me a clue where to look:
On lightly bumpy or rough texture roads it sounds like something knocking on the floor pan intermittently. The sound seems like it is coming from the right front area.
Front tires were replaced, but lugs appear tight.
Brakes had a slight shudder at first, but it is almost gone. I guessed it was rotor rust from sitting.
A pot hole or severe bump won't replicate it. It seems to happen more from vibration. It will rattle for a moment and then disappear.
If you drive on smooth roads it will never make the sound.
Accelerating or braking does not seem to affect it.
I have given the under hood and underneath a visual and everything literally looks new. Where do I start?
TIA

so front tires replaced I would have the installer check the balance. Tell them you have a vibration since the new tires. There are other things but that would be first with the facts you provided.
Might want to start with this link.
On my '13 I have the clunk-clunking coming from the right front when going over bumps. There is also a little shimmy in the front end when I'm in a turn (like an exit ramp) and hit a dip or bump in the road.
In my case I think it's the bushings because the noise only happens when it is cold and the bushings are hard. In the warm months I rarely if ever hear it. The noise only happens when the temps drop. The side-to-side shimmy is always there however.

My local dealer verified it is the sway bar bushings and control arm bushing failure. Car is just out of warranty and waiting to see if Porsche will take care of it.
Pretty major problem for a low mile car (<25k).
I've seen some mention of Porsche redesigning or updating the bushings, but I will ask the dealer and see if he can verify this. Hopefully the new parts will hold up better.
