2010 Panamera S delayed throttle response???
hey anyone with the 2010 S also experiencing quite a throttle delay when accelerating from a stand still to merge into traffic? also when getting on the accelerator quick i notice about a 1-2sec delay for the car to get going in non sport mode ....is this normal?

Typical behavior for throttle-by-wire systems. You might want to try a Sprint Booster to help eliminate this and make the accelerator pedal more responsive. I had one on my 996 and it made the car much more drivable. Good luck!

yeah, fairly normal behavior, I'm trying to get into the habit of popping it into Sport at places where I'm going to need to merge/accelerate quickly

I cant drive my car Not in Sport mode. I 2nd the Sprint booster mod, its almost like getting a tune for a fraction of the price and is super easy instal and removal.

When not in sport mode its perfectly normal. I've even had two people comment about it, and the car shifting laggy and jerky in non sport mode. Those boosters supposedly help a lot as does an ECU tune.
The sport and sportchrono really wake up the car a lot. The PDK shifts better and smoother honestly using the paddle shifters. |
the only downside to keeping it in sport or sport+ all the time is the oil wont get as hot (i.e. burn off unwanted moister ) which is important if you take frequent shorter trips.

As I approached 60k miles, I did notice my Panny wouldn't punch it like it had. She was still fast and the Sport or Sport + would cover this. Then I took to the car in for the 60k service. I followed SA advisor to replace coil packs and spark plugs. Dang, the difference was immediate. I felt like I had been short changing the car by not conducting this maintenance earlier. Not sure if this will help you any but it changed my car's performance immediately.

that's part of the normal 60k maintenance, good to know it can make a noticeable difference..

I am not sure the replacements are covered by the 60k service. If I remember correctly my issue with one plug or just one coil pack was detected during the 60k service. I figured if one had an issue the others were sure to follow. Replaced all coil packs and plugs while the car was there. I could tell the difference just slowly rolling out of the Porsche North Houston garage.

you're absolutely right, for some reason I was thinking plugs and coils where changed at 60k, seems only plugs at 40k..

I can understand the need to change spark plugs at 60K miles. I don't understand why Porsche is not using iridium plugs. Iridium plugs will last 100K, my own personal experience.
As for coil replacement, I think this is pure nonsense. Modern coils last for well over 100K miles, unless maybe they are Jaguar. With Ford's ownership problems with Jaguar coils disappeared. It is rare for a coil to offer reduced performance. They either work or fail outright; and replacing them as a preventative measure is just a "wallet flush." |
This was the most frustrating part of my 2011 4S until I discovered the Sprint Booster. I have no affiliation with the company, but it made all the difference in the world!
