Need insight on this mechanical issue please

2015 Panamera S with 12k miles.

While changing the oil, it was noticed that the A/C compressor was leaking. I wiped my finger across it and it was oily and had an odor and took a picture (attached). Looks like a very small leak.

Car is under CPO warranty and took it to the dealer. They looked at it from the top of my car and said they used a mirror vs I took off the cover and looked at it from the bottom. They told me that it was "sweating" and not leaking and needs to be leaking for them to replace. I pushed back and said, "sweating" is typically defined as condensation and water, and this is not water. They later told me that a little bit of oil coming out is normal.

Is this true? Does Porsche have a tolerance level for how much their parts should leak? Not sure what to do here.

Documentation needs to be provided in order for the CPO warranty/PCNA to cover any manufacturer defects. This could be along the lines of the following items:
- A/C output temp needs to be tested. Is it coming out of the vents at OE spec temp?
- Does the compressor engage to OE spec?
- What is the fluid? Refrig oil?
- Is there a crack or separation of the compressor that would cause the "sweat"?
- Any A/C TSB's for this car?

Condensation is normal but system oil is not.

I agree with your dealership that a bit of "sweat" is not actionable. I'm used to calling this "seepage", same thing. But....be sure that your complaint has been documented at the dealership so as to initiate a claim if and when it becomes a genuine "leak", even outside your warranty period. In the meantime, I would not worry so long as the AC is working properly. Generally, these seepage and leaks do not self repair.
