Panamera Turbo (2010) engine mount

Folks - I need your advise. I wanted to purchase new engine mounts for my 2010 Panamera Turbo but was told by one of the sellers that the latest revision of the mounts only work if I have the updated subframe.

I am no longer able to easily find the original mounts as well. I have looked at pictures of the updated mounts and compared them to the old ones and they look rather identical

Unlikely I am going to spend about USD 2K for a new subframe just to fix my engine mounts. The seller has said that I need to change the subframe as well because if one of the components (engine mounts + subframe) is not changed it could cause more wear on that item to avoid future problems.

1) Has anyone had experience putting the updated mounts on their 2009 / 2010 Panameras (without changing the engine subframe)

and did they fit?
New mount numbers : 94837505712 and 94837505812
New subframe : 97034110110

Old mount : 94837506003 and 94837505903

I saw on another site that mentioned : - Porsche has revised the motor mount design since the 2010 model year and now 2010 vehicles in need of motor mounts must upgrade to the newer style of motor mounts . This requires a new front subframe as well. This kit includes :
- updated front subframe
- new left and right hydraulic motor mounts

Note that when installing this update kit, the lower engine torque support is no longer used and must be removed

I would do further research on the merits of the new subframe. For instance, if the new subframe deletes the lower engine torque support because the new design of the motor mount compensates for the loss of the lower engine torque support, then it seems to me that you can mount the new motor mount on the old subframe without worries. Just leave the lower engine torque support in place.

I am not impressed by the "brute force engineering" used to develop hydraulic motor mounts. Many manufacturers use them - Mercedes and Jaguar besides Porsche. The design is to reduce NVH (noise vibration harshness). Now "they all use them". How about solid motor mounts, just like cars had in the 60s? Is NVH are real problem with the modern smooth-running motors? Solid mounts would make the motor part of the chassis structure adding stiffness. I have direct experience with switching from rubber to solid motor mounts on a four cylinder motorcycle. It stiffened the chassis, and improved riding quality. It was hard to detect any increased NVH.

Can you tell me in PM or here, how easy the engine mount is on a turbo? Been looking into that for a bit, for when they start leaking. Appreciate the help. General steps, tools, tricks, etc. Greatly appreciated.

Not sure if you were talking to me - but I am not gonna DIY this. The shop mentioned that it';s quite a pain because you need to drop the subframe and hoist the engine up before the mounts can go in. Transmission one should be pretty straightforward apparently.

Cool. Yeah, I thought you will DIY it. I am looking for ways, but we will see. Those are 100 bucks parts, but with labor comes to about 1600 total.
Thanks.

Just wanted to provide an update that the new engine mounts work fine in the older subframe but just leave the lower torque damper there. I changed the torque damper as well including the transmission mount. Car feels awesome again!

How did it feel prior to the replacement? Hard jerking on coming to a stop and sport + upshifts?

No - it was more just more vibrations overall in the cabin when the car is idle or lower - medium speeds.

Unfortunately I didn't watch the process. In my country DIY probably makes less sense because labor cost is cheaper.

Paid only like usd 300 for labor to change engine and transmission mount, change front diff fluid, change tie rods and change steering rack bushes.

Well that's our solution - ship our cars over to Malaysia to get them worked on!

Or would be easier to ship the mechanic here to do the work, then ship them back.

I can confirm that the new mounts I had installed last month had no issues whatsoever with old subframe and fit just fine in my 2010 4S.

Hi! if I understood correctly that you do not need to replace the subframe because the new engine mount fit to old,no additional changes?
i have 2010 4s
