Sticky steering
Sticky steering
Hi,
I have noticed that when the car is cold and has just been started up, the steering feels sticky for a short while until the car has warmed up, with the steering not going back naturally to center on it's own, requiring manual input to bring the steering to center.
Is this normal?
Thanks

Check the power steering fluid level. I can see slight seeping at the steering rack on our ‘13 and topped off with Lucas Steering Stop Leak.
(EDIT- Unless Porsche switched to Electric Power Steering then I’m afraid I don’t know).

Maybe it’s time to change the fluid and filter? You could do an experiment. Suck out the reservoir fluid and replace it to see if there is any change. I’ve done this just to freshen the fluid.
Oh yes.. That is a regular maintenance item for me. I agree...always helps a bit.
