Wind Noise
Wind Noise
I have noticed that at highway speeds, there is some wind noise coming from both front windows/A pillars. I am not sure if it is coming from the rearview mirrors, but if someone else has had this issue, please let me know if this is normal or if it needed some sort of adjustment.
Thanks
Thanks
Is this a new vehicle for you or was something done to the windows recently?
I've owned my PTT for 3 years and I had the windshield changed with non-oem glass. This caused wind noise because the glass was not able to make a good seal where it met the roofline. After working with my insurance company they completely agreed oem glass was necessary, and it corrected the wind noise issue completely.
To prove the problem was the non-oem glass, I did several freeway runs with and without painters masking tape (blue or green tape) across the top of the windshield to compare the interior sound. A freeway drive without the tape showed the noise was at least 100% greater.
Tape your car up and find out where the noise is coming from.

Agree with @rgfinnegan3 to check the windshield and surrounding trim. On my 2013, I had a chatter on the left side A-pillar after a windshield replacement at high speeds. The cause of the chatter was due to the exterior trim along the left side. There is a rubber seal that runs long the inside of the trim which was crimped/folded over. The trim piece with rubber seal was removed and reinstalled properly to resolve the problem.
Thanks for your replies.
When I listen closely, the wind noise is not coming from the A pillar or around the windshield.
The noise is coming from what seems like the inside of the door when travelling at highways speeds. Would you know any reason why this would be occurring?
