Part identification help please

Went to get new tyres put on my 970.2 Hybrid. When the shop jacked it up I noticed something wobbling up and down. Looks like an electrical module or junction box of some sort, dead centre between the rear wheels. I didn't grab a pic but I found a pic online, may not be exact same as my 2015 but, its the same thing.
A) what is it?
B) Should it be bouncing up and down?

I'm guessing the answer to B is no. I only managed a brief glimpse at it but from the way it's moving it looks like its bolted to something at the rear of the unit (toward the back of the car) but the forward end is free floating. Either it needs securing at the front end too, or, whatever its bolted to at the back is loose or failing, or, it's just meant to bounce around...which doesn't seem particularly German to me

Part in question, circled in a lovely shade of magenta.

This is the Air compressor for the air suspension. It is mounted loose on silentblocs. No issue.
