I think a lot of this stuff gets lost in the scheduled events section. Too much stuff taking place in too many places. If you still want to use the events section, it couldn't hurt to double post it into your respective regional sections as well. You may get better responses in the regional as people can take a quick look at exactly what is happening in their part of the world without having to read through a lot of stuff that isn't pertinent to them.
