National Meet Board Members
Ken,
Would those participating in the Open Road Racing also want to do track time, or would that be too much? When will the dates for that even be known?
Also keep in mind in June its 100+ in Vegas... will not be comfy on the track...

I can't speak for everyone, but i know I woul dtrack as well as the ORR. I believe Tony, Bill and Sean would as well. I think Michele would track only.
Roland is one of the organizers for the event. He used to frequent the GT3 board. He will probably have next year's schedule. the link is www.openroadracing.com and this year's events were at the end of June and into July. I know it is hot, but we almost commited to a trailer for all of us for this year's event and I have no question that it would be a much easier pill to swallow for us if the meet was centered around that time.
It could actually be one of the scheduled activities since I kknow Hamman7, Watt and others were going to do it.

What about this for a proposal. Just an idea...
Have a national MEET -- for people -- in Vegas or whereever. No cars (unless you drive there), no track. Just to meet folks and have some fun.
Then organize a few regional track events. Northeast/MidAtlantc, Florida, Texas, and Cali/West.
I'm just thinking trekking cars all over the country isnt going to go over well. Maybe we should concentrate the National thing as a "people" thing, and the regional ones as "car" things...

Scott,
The idea is a good one except everyone is in love with this stuff. I know I want to meet Sharkster and Fred and see their cars as well as the many other people and their beautiful labors of love. As a counterpoint, if we schedule enough events.....ORR, track, Vegas strip drive, skidpad, dinners, parties, etc., etc. the more people would be drawn to attend.
It sounds like the location is the prime objective, followed by the date (and you know my feelings on that if it is Vegas) followed by an itinerary. Once that is all decided, we will be able to assign responsibilities to the various organizers. One person handles the hotel reservations, one for the party, one for the track reservation, one for ORR participation info, etc., etc.
After we collect all of the info, I would be happy to assemble all of it in a giant official post as an open invitation to attend.

I left messages today for the tracks, I will follow-up tomorrow.
I'll give you a call in the afternoon. Can't wait to hear the details
i don't think anyone mentioned this yet, if so sorry.
With an effort like this I think Magazines/sponsors would jump on the opportunity at this National Event. Without the Internet (6speedonline), an event like this could never happened in the past.
So I am sure Excellence, etc.. and sponsors would love to be affiliated with such a group of Porsche owners who share the same driving passion.
Sponsors would host dinners, etc.....
Some thoughts.
