Regarding corner workers, we should pay for them. I don't want to corner work. Been there.....done that.
Let's get this off the ground. Figure out per person costs based on a various attendance quantities. (i.e.: 20 people=$300, 40 people = $200, etc., etc.)
Once the track is reserved, the rest will fall into place.
The full 3+ mile VIR course will be simply amazing!!!!

Let's get this together and book 10/8 ASAP (or piggy back onto the Car Guy's event). I can call VIR tomorrow to see if I can obtain contact info for the Car Guys. Otherwise, is anyone on the board work for/with an insurance carrier willing to underwrite the event?

You really need to learn how to express yourself in front of groups of your peers.
For $200-500 I'm definitely in!
I can probably round up a few (at least 3) close friends (and Porsche owners) too to help defray the costs.
Lessee. $8600 + $1600 (workers) = $10,200
Only variable is insurance. Oh yeah, and meals.
10 people= $1,020
15 people = $680
20 people = $510
25 people = $408

I'm in no matter when it occurs! I'll also bring along at least one other and as many as four other drivers/cars. If we can't make it this autumn let's make it in the Spring.
